Customer Testimonials:

“Fantastic day on a beautiful island”!

This was the first excursion we booked back in October 2013 with 2 other couples for our June 2014 Princess cruise. We were able to spend a great day with Kinlay Francis exploring Orkney Island and all of it’s historic wonders and beautiful landscape. Kinlay has intimate knowledge of the island’s history, from thousands of years ago when the first standing stones were erected to the Churchill barriers used in WWII. Despite the chilly wind, the weather was fantastic and the company even more so.

If you’re spending any time in Orkney, either from a cruise ship or on your own, please consider booking Okney Uncovered for a tour, but do it soon! He will book up early, and justifiably so. This was one of, if not the best excursions we had during this 12 day cruise.

“Orkney: A Fascinating Day!”
We are a family of five consisting of my wife, myself, 15 yr. old son and 11 and 10 yr. old daughters. We live in the U.S. in Florida. I did some web research about the area and also contacted the tourist office. After speaking with a couple of tour companies I decided to book with Orkney Uncovered, which is run by Kinlay Francis. It turned out to be a great choice. Kinlay gave us a wonderful day in Orkney. We were more interested in the Neolithic sites with a lesser priority to the wartime history. Kinlay delivered that and more. By the end of the tour we found ourselves fascinated by both. He was very attentive and patient to the needs and interests of the children as well.

We are avid travellers and have used the services of many private tour companies. I would highly recommend this tour company! Upon returning home we found that Kinlay went one step more by sending us links to sites that we expressed further interest in.

‘Brilliant day tour’
We only had a 1 day stop at Orkney on our cruise in May, so I wanted to be sure we’d see as much as possible. And we certainly did. The cruise tours were all only half days, but we got to spend a full 7 hours with Kinlay on a bespoke tour. It was definitely a day to remember. Thank you and apologies for the belated review 🙂
